In the Eastern region a designeng conference and exhibition was held in September at the College of West Anglia. The keynote speaker was Bobby Chakravarthy, President of APS who spoke about Health & Safety Standards Update and Impacts following Grenfell.
The delegates then split into two rooms to listen to talks on Influencing Good Accessible Design, Causes of Catastrophic Failure in Construction Projects, Air Tightness Testing, The Unique Durisol Block System, Party Wall Administration & Surveying Practice, The Future of Legislation & Building Control, What the Eye Don’t See, the Chef Gets Away With and Why Bother with Heritage? Feedback from delegates was good, they thought the day was very worthwhile and the venue excellent.
We have a number of Centres for Excellence where CPD is held on a regular basis; The Oaklands Hotel in Norwich, the College of West Anglia in King's Lynn and Ely. A recent CPD seminar was presented by the President of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers, David Taylor on Where is Quality Going?
We are looking forward to another designeng conference and exhibition in February 2018 being held at Girton College, Cambridge. This will be the second regional conference at this venue following a successful inaugural event in 2016. To book a place at this event, please follow the link for delegates below.
