Join Kieran Parkinson at 8am for an interactive webinar looking at BIM and the Digitisation of the Built Environment.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a collaborative way of working underpinned by digital technologies. These technologies allow for more efficient methods of designing, delivering and maintaining physical built assets throughout their entire life-cycle.
Since 2016, Government has required as a minimum fully collaborative 3D BIM (with all project and asset information, documentation and data being electronic) on all centrally procured government projects. BSI developed a suite of standards to support industry in the adoption of BIM, outlining the required processes and information management practices, all of which are available at www.bim-level2.org.
In this webinar, Kieran Parkinson will provide some background to how these UK standards were developed, an overview of the standards themselves, and the future of BIM and wider digital built environment standardisation.
Standards Market Development Manager, Built Environment, BSI
Kieran has over 15 years’ experience in developing UK, European and international standards at BSI in its role as the National Standards Body, most of which has been focused in the built environment. Kieran has been involved in numerous standards programmes for buildings and infrastructure, covering for example construction products, structural design, energy efficiency, flooding and BIM. Kieran works with stakeholders in the UK and globally to ensure that any future standards needs are supported.
Each CABE webinar counts for 1-hour CPD.
