The presentation will provide an introduction and overview to conducting fire risk assessments in line with the recommendations of PAS 79. PAS 79 is the industry recognised ‘best practice’ methodology for performing fire risk assessments to be compliant with the requirements of UK fire safety legislation.
We will introduce the concept of the nine step approach, along with the concepts of fire risk and hazard and look at the benchmark standards for the assessment of fire precautions against the requirements of occupants.We will also look at how to formulate and action plan and where responsibly lies.

Jamie is a Technical Director for HKA within the fire engineering expert witness services. He is an exceptionally experienced fire risk assessor having previously been employed by leading consu
ltancies delivering fire risk management solutions across many industry sectors.
Jamie is from an enforcement background, having previously worked for Kent Fire & Rescue service both in an operational and regulatory capacity. He holds a first class honours degree in fire safety engineering, has delivered fire safety design and risk management training for many organisations , as well as having lectured on fire engineering degree courses.
Jamie now works as an expert witness for HKA providing evidence for litigation cases both in the UK and internationally.
