Reflecting on what to write for the March Association Briefing it came to mind that we are approaching spring and hopefully the better weather and lighter evenings will start to appear!
The last few months have seen the HQ Operations team look very closely at the marketing of the Association, to raise our profile, to grow our membership and enhance our service provision to you as members, and this month I am using this page to remind you of some of the initiatives that are available to you as a member of CABE.
How can you raise your profile as a Building Engineer?
Have you been involved in a project of which you are very proud? Is it exemplary and something that you should be shouting about from the rooftops? If so, please nominate the company/organisation/individual for an award. An award is a good way of recognising a commendable piece of work and raises the profile of the project and the member involved. Further details of the Award Categories and Entry Guidance Notes have been inserted into the centre of this issue. Closing date is 15 April 2017.
How can you maintain your Knowledge Currency as a Building Engineer?
The Association is committed to offering a varied training and Continuing Professional Development provision to both its members and other professionals working within the built environment. If you haven’t taken part in a regional event, a training course or a Webinar as of yet, we would encourage you to, and if you have but it has been a while, perhaps it is time for you to reflect on whether you need a refresher or have a gap in your knowledge where you need to learn something new? In addition to the current training opportunities, new course topics will be launched in the not-too-distant future so watch this space! If you would like to book on any March course, then book a space and bring a colleague for 50% of the price.
How can you encourage a colleague to become a Building Engineer?
Are you aware of the Member Recruit Member scheme? If you have a colleague who you believe will benefit from membership of the CABE, then please attempt to recruit them. You will be entitled to up to £50 off the 2017/18 membership subscription, or if you prefer you will be entitled to a £50 high street voucher, once your new recruit has an active membership. Why not set yourself a new challenge and recruit enough members to cover your 2017/18 subscription.
How can you ensure you are getting maximum value from your subscription?
Designations and the monthly copy of Building Engineer are CABE benefits that you will be very familiar with.
