BBA CERTIFICATION AWARDED TO IBSTOCK KEVINGTON & ANCON FOR NEXUS®
Nexus, the next generation of brick-faced support systems and developed through a collaboration between Ibstock Kevington and Ancon Building Products, is the first of its kind to achieve British Board of Agrément (BBA) certification for both soffits and lintels.
Nexus soffits combine a lightweight Ibstock Kevington brick-faced steel unit with Ancon's Nexus MDC brick support angle. This innovative, fully adjustable, prefabricated soffit solution is quick and easy to install and allows architects and constructors to add an extra depth and dimension to their masonry façade designs.
Nexus has been independently tested for durability by Lucideon and offers considerable benefits over traditional cast concrete alternatives.
FORMICA® LAMINATE LANDS AT NEW BERGEN AIRPORT TERMINAL
Norway's Bergen Airport was in need of modernising to facilitate further expansion to accommodate growing passenger traffic.
As part of the airport’s Terminal 3 facelift, an area of 4000m² of Formica® Compact in shades of Soft White, Storm and Xenon now clads the internal walls of the public spaces with Blaze Red and Spectrum Green in the customs area. Construction was completed in August 2017.
With the airport being dominated by fjords, valleys and mountains, the surrounding region provided inspiration in the redesign. Glass was used to give a light and airy feel, complemented by a timber ceiling, oak slats and the warmth of Formica® Compact for an unmistakeably Scandinavian feel.
