LUX INTELLIGENT NOW AVAILABLE AS AN ANDROID APP
P&S Feb 18

Advanced has added an Android app to its Lux Intelligent emergency lighting testing system, in addition to the existing iOS and desktop versions.
Cloud monitoring via apps makes emergency light testing via Lux Intelligent easy and more cost effective, while demonstrating compliance. All data is stored safely and securely in the cloud for as long as it’s needed, with all test reports accessible at any time and automatically shared with relevant contractors or maintenance partners.
Lux Intelligent is an addressable, automatic test system that shows all emergency lighting is compliant and functioning, with no engineer intervention required. It can be used with both new builds or retrofitted onto existing wiring.

NOTTINGHAM INDEPENDENT LIVING SCHEMES RECEIVE MAXIMUM FIRE PROTECTION WITH AICO
P&S Feb 18

Two independent living schemes have benefitted from Aico’s latest Smoke Alarm technology as part of  Nottingham City Homes’ ‘Grander Designs’ advanced refurbishment programme.
As part of the refurbishment, Garfield Court, a 32-flat corridor scheme in Radford, and Kersall Court, a similar 33-flat scheme, have been fitted with Aico mains powered Multi-Sensors and Ei160e Series Alarms. The Multi-sensors contain both optical and heat sensors to constantly monitor smoke and heat levels, sending and receiving information via its intelligent detection software.
These alarms, which form a BS 5839 Part 6 fire system, have been connected to a nurse call system and the BS 5839 Part 1 fire system in the communal areas to maximise safety.

MINIATURE CONNECTOR RANGE OPENS UP SMALLER APPLICATIONS FOR PLUGGABLE CONNECTION SYSTEMSP&S Feb 18

The 890 and 891 Series WINSTA® pluggable connectors offer fast installation for conductors from 0.25-1.5 mm², making them ideal for devices like LED lighting modules, which are becoming increasingly smaller. Pluggable connection offers distinct advantages over traditional screw connectors, including lower installation time, reduced risk of wiring errors, improved reliability and lower costs.
With the introduction of WINSTA MINI, the WINSTA family has now been extended allowing smaller devices such as sensors, actuators, lights and bus cables to be quickly and easily integrated into the WINSTA pluggable connection system. This helps address growing demand for flexible, reliable and expandable cabling systems that meet the needs of increasingly complex building and lighting systems.
