STUDOR SHOWS THE WAY TO HEALTH AND HYGIENE IN THE BATHROOM

P&S Jul 17Whilst unpleasant, a bad smell in the bathroom is not, in itself, dangerous. However, it may indicate a more serious and potentially life-threatening issue. It could mean that the water trap seal – the only barrier between the drainage system and the living space – has been lost, potentially posing serious health risks.
Studor’s Trap-Vent solution, the combination of a water trap and Air Admittance Valve (AAV), can easily be retrofitted to an existing bathroom, and is ideal for small group venting in, for example, hotels, care homes and hospitals. It protects the water trap seal between the drainage system and the room, stopping bad odours and pathogens escaping from empty traps.

JET VAC TECHNOLOGY – TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!
P&S Jul 17

Water jetting and vacuuming technology supplied by Lanes Group, the UK's largest independent drainage specialist, has been used to help build the new physics building at Oxford University – a structure that will be home to some of the world's leading scientists doing cutting edge research – the Beecroft Building.
Lanes was commissioned by principal contractor, Laing O'Rourke, to carry out water jet cleaning of the specialist groundwater drainage system built into the concrete shell of the basement structure.
The drainage system, made up of about 200 metres of 100mm-diameter pipe, feeds groundwater into a well. When the building is operational, a pump will discharge the water into the surface water drainage system.
