UPDATED LUX INTELLIGENT SAVINGS CALCULATOR DEMONSTRATES RETROFIT EMERGENCY LIGHT TESTING SAVINGS
Advanced has recently updated the savings calculator on its Lux Intelligent website to demonstrate the savings customers can achieve by retrofitting its cloud-enabled emergency light testing system.
The original savings calculator was born out of Advanced's confidence in the savings Lux Intelligent could deliver to end users, facilities managers and maintenance companies. Growing requests from the retrofit market prompted the change, as Lux Intelligent can replace old or discontinued systems and can usually be installed on existing wiring, with installed lights easily converted.
Automatic testing using Lux Intelligent simplifies the entire process and is incredibly cost-effective, especially when using cloud-based monitoring via mobile or web app.
ANCON FURTHER EXTENDS ITS ST1 WALL TIE RANGE
Now available in lengths of 325mm and 350mm, the Ancon ST1 wall tie range has been extended to suit high-rise masonry buildings with insulated cavities up to 225mm wide.
This latest wall tie development clearly demonstrates that Ancon continues to lead the field in masonry fixings. The ST1 is the only heavy duty wall tie on the market suitable for these super-insulated cavities and, with wall tie installation being such a hot topic following the collapse of an Edinburgh school wall as a result of poor workmanship, these new longer lengths of ST1 feature a maximum design cavity embedment guide at each end to aid installation.

SIKA CONCRETE REPAIR AND CORROSION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ENSURES FLYOVER’s LONG-TERM FUNCTION
Sika supplied the concrete repair and total corrosion management system to extend the lifespan of Anlaby Road flyover, a four-lane carriageway road bridge on one of the main commuter routes to Hull central, with the products’ effective and easy-use enabling vital refurbishment to be carried out with minimal disruption to the thousands of commuters who use the route daily.
Built in 1964, it displayed major signs of carbonation-induced spalling to columns and deck soffits above the rail lines. Contractors, BOSA Contracts, on behalf of Hull City Council, required a practical repair solution to extend the lifespan of the flyover without impacting on daily road and rail commuter journeys or impeding pedestrians.
