Read the award guidance and download the submission form. Any application that does not meet the criteria and is not accompanied by the submission form will not be considered by the Association’s Awards Panel

Ensure that in the details provided on the form, reference is made to the award criteria which should demonstrate to the judges why your submission should receive an award
Should you wish to make a nomination for more than one category, a submission form needs to be completed for each category.
All entries must be submitted to CABE Headquarters, Lutyens House. Billing Brook Road, Northampton, NN2 7RW, and should include one hard copy and three electronic versions by the closing date of midnight 31st May 2019.
1. Application form
Download and complete the Awards Submission Form including all of the information requested about the project you want to nominate for an award.
This includes indicating which award you are nominating the project for – there are five awards open for nominations:
New Build Award
A new build project in any sector which demonstrate exceptional design, delivery or performance in use.
Maintenance or Refurbishment Award
A project which demonstrates exceptional good practice, innovation or engineering in maintaining or refurbishing buildings or part of the built environment.
Building Safety Award
Award for a project which makes a significant contribution to improving safety or welfare in the built environment including in terms of fire safety, fire engineering, risk assessment, structural safety or public health.
Award for a project that demonstrates outstanding contribution to improving the sustainability of the built environment including in terms of carbon emissions, energy consumption, reduced waste or resilience to climate change.
Preservation, Conservation and Extension Award.
Award for an outstanding project involving the preservation, conservation or extension of an existing building taking into account improvements in quality, accessibility, sustainability and user satisfaction.
Scoring for the awards is based on a weighted scoring matrix to emphasise the different nature of these awards.
2. Project description and supporting information
You should submit a description of the project you wish to nominate in the relevant section of the application form which should be between 1200-1500 words long. The description should explain why the project is worthy of an award and in particular how it meets the assessment criteria.
You should also provide an explanation of how CABE played a significant role in the project and how this contributed to a building or outcome meriting an award.
Please provide any additional information necessary to help the awards panel understand the merits of your nominated project. This could include drawings, photographs, videos, animations, reports, assessments, certificates, evidence of performance, articles or press coverage or any other relevant material (JPEG, PDF and MP4 formats preferred).
It is assumed that all projects submitted for consideration will comply with all statutory and legislative requirements and such other regulatory systems and codes of practice that are deemed relevant. Where such compliance is not evident and no satisfactory explanation is available, the project will not be considered.
To enter the Built Environment Awards download the Submission Form and return the completed form along with any supporting materials to firstname.lastname@example.org by the closing date of midnight 31st May 2019.
